Migrant workers in Thailand come with the hope of finding a living wage and a better way of life. Their children often live as second class citizens, without the money or legal rights to an education.
Poorly educated and discriminated against, they are often exploited and live with the constant fear of arrest and deportation. The unfortunate result is that many migrant children work as child labourers in low-skilled and low-paying jobs, or worse.
Your support helps us to provide an alternative to these hard-working people and their children. Our migrant education program offers a learning center that is equipped to provide full-day schooling for 75 Burmese migrant children living in the Kuraburi district of Phang Nga Province in Southern Thailand.
Students take lessons from full-time teachers and visiting volunteers which provides them with hope for a better future. We are changing parents’ perspectives by proving that education makes a difference for a better future.

ACME Supporting Organizations
Foundation For Education & Development (FED)
FED advocates for human rights and access to education for the migrant community in Thailand. With projects in Myanmar and Thailand, FED coordinates our curriculum and education strategy, and is a vital link to the migrant community. FED also provides training in labor rights and a Community Health Volunteers (CHV) program that offers regular health checks for the children. FED also connects the Andaman Center to the larger community through cultural events and football tournaments.
Andaman Discoveries
Andaman Discoveries is a social enterprise, and Southern Thailand’s leading provider of  responsible and community-based tourism. Founded in the wake of the 2004 tsunami, they provide homestays, study tours, and volunteering opportunities. A percentage of every tour goes to the support of the Center. Andaman Discoveries staff are also active in the management of the Center, participating in family outreach, leading student field trips, and coordinating volunteer placements.
North Andaman Network (NAN)
NAN provides fundraising support, strategic advice, and is the owner of the Andaman Center campus. NAN is a collective of committed locals, activists, and development experts. We have over two decades of grassroots experience in Thailand including tsunami relief, conservation, community-based tourism, education, and human rights. NAN works with partner communities to create locally-led solutions along the North Andaman Coast of Ranong and Phang Nga provinces in Thailand.
Global Purpose Group
Global Purpose Group is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit in the United States of America. All donations are tax deductible. Their mission is to empower people and communities to improve their own lives towards a sustainable future. Global Purpose Group provides direct aid and structural support in the areas of disaster recovery, education, cultural empowerment, poverty alleviation, and natural resilience. They have supported the Andaman for over 10 years.
